Learn the lighthouse’s fascinating history and lore from your guide. Many stories come from Bob Allen, the great-grandson of William H. Follett, lighthouse keeper from 1912 until 1940 who was stationed at Montauk Point, Cedar Island and the Long Beach Bar "Bug" Light stations. Bob’s father, Bill, quit school at a young age to help Bob's grandfather at Bug Light. Our guides share many of Bob’s stories and photos from his family's experiences.
