The Mission of the East End Seaport Museum and Marine
Foundation is to recognize, restore and preserve the maritime heritage
of the East End of Long Island, New York.
The East End Seaport Museum and Marine Foundation encourages community participation to get in touch with our collective maritime heritage. We hold summer sessions for children, provide maritime films, host marine-based lectures, and celebrate maritime culture. |
|
· In Greenport, we operate the East End Seaport Museum on the waterfront with its maritime exhibits and collections. Our blacksmith conducts demonstrations of iron working with hands-on experiences for children at the Village Blacksmith Shop.
· Offshore - we own, operate, and maintain the historic Long Beach Bar (Bug) Lighthouse. Bug Light is the gateway to Greenport, Shelter Island, and Peconic Bay and we are proud to be the stewards of this working navigational structure. |
