Maritime Festival

The annual Maritime Festival, which attracts over 40,000 people, features classic seagoing wooden vessels, a kick off parade, ice boats, nautical arts and crafts, demonstrations, old fashioned lawn games, activities for children and families, kayak races, music, pirate shows, local produce and seafood, wines and craft beer, and visits to Bug Light, our lighthouse.

Land & Sea Gala

For 26 years the East End Seaport Museum and Marine Foundation has kicked off its fund-raising Maritime Festival weekend with a Land & Sea Gala. The 2015 Gala was by far, the most spectacular party the North Fork has seen in years!  Edible East End said it was "a magical world of food, drink and seafaring memorabilia!" 

It is truly an evening not to be missed.

It is one of the most anticipated events of a Greenport Summer and you can play an important role!  The 27th annual Maritime Festival (9/23 – 9/25) will once again bring excitement, history and entertainment to our historic seaside Village. The not-for –profit East End Seaport Museum & Marine Foundation is proud to produce the Festival as a fundraiser to help support their community minded programs.

To join in the fun, please come to the Volunteer meeting, bring a friend or two, sign up to participate in a field of your interest and learn about the plans for a terrific weekend.

Artist Joe Mullins and Gyotaku Print Making

 Friday, July 22 --Mr. Mullins comes to the EESM with a thorough knowledge and vast experience in the fine art of Gyotaku.   Gyotaku pronounced (gee-oh-tah-koo) means "fish rubbing” in Japanese.  It is a traditional form of Japanese fish printing, dating from the mid-1800s, used by fishermen to record their catch. For an additional fee, lecture attendees will have the opportunity to create their very own print to frame and hang proudly as "The one that DIDN'T get away". Tim Fitall and the Sampawams Creek musicians

Well-known throughout Long Island and the tristate area, this will be an evening of sea chanteys: the history, lore and music. Chanteys were work songs and told the tales of high adventure.  The group brings alive the folklore of the great days of sail through their music.
