For the first time since 911, the East End Maritime
Museum's Annual Maritime Museum is proud to announce the return of the 106 Rescue demonstration as part of the
festival weekend.
The 106th Rescue Wing, New York Air National Guard, located in Westhampton Beach, will be demonstrating their life
saving capabilities at the Greenport Maritime Festival on Saturday, September 22 at 2:30 PM.
The 106th Rescue Wing will perform a demonstration using the HC-130 Hercules and the HH-60 Rescue Helicopter.

Observe the elite Pararescuemen parachuting into the water and demonstrating their water rescue skills. Using both
aircraft, the 106th will also perform a simulated air refueling which demonstrates the refueling capability the
mission depends on when called hundreds of miles out to sea.
The 106th Rescue Wing has been involved in numerous rescues to include the Perfect Storm, TWA 800, 9-11 and Katrina.
They recently returned from a tour in Afghanistan where they were credited with saving 161 lives, bringing their
total lives saved to date to 610. Visit www.nysuff.ang.af.mil for more information on your Long Island heroes.
